Established in 2020, Ithilien is a family farm operating organically and sustainably.
Our sheep assist us in raising organic and sustainable nursery stock. Our pastured chickens and ducks compost our food scraps. All the animals on the farm play their part in the great harmony and mystery of life on the farm.
Sheep
It all begins with an accident. Sheep chowing down on my privet hedge. They had been gracioisly avoiding the privet all spring, then in July they were called to the feast. Privets like to be trimmed in July. I think the privet hedge communitcated with the sheep in a way that humans cannot understand. Will the sheep help me? Thee you want to launch a business. Ducks and Chickens
Our pastured chickens and ducks produce delicious and healthy eggs. They eat the ticks for us and keep our lawn safe for our barefoot children! They also eat all our food scraps make the composting process much more efficient. Who doesn’t love chickens and ducks!
